Employment Internship Program
An eight-week training program that teaches the basics of acquiring and retaining long-term employment. The classes focus on character development, job readiness and financial literacy.
Rental Application Fee Assistance
As a way to contribute to ending homelessness, the Dream Center will help those looking for housing by offering financial assistance towards the application fee required for renting an apartment. This is a service exclusively for our Employment Internship Program graduates.
Narcotics Anonymous Class
The Dream Center partners with the City of Norfolk to provide addiction recovery services Wednesday at NOON at the New Life Ghent Campus to anyone in need throughout the year.
The Dream Center offers housing to Employment Training Program graduates. We offer short term housing at our Employment Training Center in Downtown Norfolk.
A weekly time of fellowship and meals tied together with the Employment Training Program. Guests arrive at 5:00p, and meals are served from 5:45 to 6:30p.
Dream Center meets every Friday morning at 7:00a. at the New Life Ghent Campus to offer showers to those in need. The Dream Center provides a towel, underclothes, and toiletries. We carpool together from the Ghent campus to the Y on Granby; after everyone is finished we drive to the Freemason Street Baptist Church for breakfast.
The Dream Center provides free laundry services at the New Life Ghent Campus from 9:00a to 12:00pm on Tuesdays and Fridays. Individuals can come on a first-come, first-served basis to do one load of laundry.
A weekly time of fellowship and meals on the streets of Norfolk. Volunteers meet at theGhent Campus at 4pm, prepare bag lunches and distribute the lunches to those in need from their cars.
It Ain’t Over
The Dream Center partners with the Norfolk Jail Ministry and offers a support group for women who have been incarcerated. They meet every Monday night at 6:30p at the New Life Ghent Campus.
